Now here's a bloke who looks like he means what he says. And why not? Rick Seitz, boss of breakdown company Madison Motors is frequently called to the scene of traffic incidents, clearing the lanes in order to keep the traffic flowing. So when the call came in about a broken down, 80,000lb paver, Madison didn't hesitate. Why? Well because, says Biglorryblog, of this baby.Yes its Western Star wrecker with all the whistles and bells..
Since purchasing its first Western Star 4900 SA in October 2005 for heavy-haul towing, Fremont,Ohio-based Madison Motors has been capable of handling jobs that normally require two trucks.. "I was looking for a wrecker that could really take on anything," Rick tells me. "We're often called to handle huge commercial vehicles, like tractor-trailers or buses, and they require a tough, dependable truck with a lot of towing capacity." So obviously the Western Star was top choice.
Ricks 4900 SA features a specialised wrecker body with a sliding rotator crane built by NRC, a 550hp Cat, Chalmers rear-suspension, twin steering with a pusher axle and an Eaton gearbox. Finishing touches include custom graphics, polished aluminum wheels and flotation tires. Not bad...not bad at all! And by my reckoning that makes it a 10x4 with three steering axles.. "The truck's front-end capacity and a wide, solid wheel-base were very important," Rick adds, "We've had our Western Star pull up to 154,000 lbs. and haven't maxed-out yet!" And click through here to see why the 4900 is a 'star' performer both inside as well as out!

"Owning the truck is a great experience," concludes Rick. "It hasn't let me down. Between the performance and the dealer support, there is no downside to my Western Star. I would definitely buy again."
