Cue 'Ride of the Valkyries!' Word reaches Biglorryblog that the company behind some of the most memorable scenes in blockbuster movies www.flyingpictures.com that have captivated audiences the world over has a new 'star' performer of its own - a three-pointed star one to be precise.

Flying Pictures has only gone and bought itself this brand spanking new Mercedes Sprinter van, which it will use to transport its specialist camera equipment to locations across the UK and Europe.

Based at Chilbolton, near Andover, Flying Pictures leads the world in aerial filming - its credits include the last 11 James Bond films, the entire Harry Potter series, Mamma Mia, Cliffhanger and Black Hawk Down, as well as Body of Lies, the new film by director Ridley Scott, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. For as the Great Barry Norman would say: "And why not?"

And speaking of heliocopeters how about this one--a cross between a helicopter and a VW Caddy....?

Sort of as Caddycopter....or is it as Helewagen? And for all those clever-dicks who think my aviation questions are too simple identify these two choppers! Now click through here for more.....

Flying Picture's new van is the third consecutive Sprinter it's owned. A Long-bodied, high-roofed 315CDI model, it is the company's sole commercial vehicle; other Sprinters are sourced from a local hire company when needed. "The Sprinter is a quality product," Flying Pictures' Head of Operations Andy Stephens tells Biglorryblog. "I don't believe there's another van of this size that can match it for comfort, space and reliability."

Over the past 25 years, Flying Pictures has worked on more than 300 films and dozens of TV shows and commercials. And a little birdie tells me its new Sprinter has just returned from a trouble-free trip to Austria, where the company was shooting the aerial sequences for the forthcoming Nicolas Cage film Season of the Witch. And for a real '60s hippy-trail type veggie pie quiz question---who had a hit with that song?
