Roger Dennis, the man with more energy than a small power station, e-mails to say "Here's some information on the forthcoming IMECHE lecture 'From Road to Racetrack' which features a series of talks looking at the technology used in tyres from trucks to Formula 1 racing cars!" Speakers include Roger Moulding from Bridgestone, Dick Denby of the Eco-Link B-Double fame and my old mate Alan Parker, ex-engineering director for TNT UK. So plenty of passion and knowledge for the night reckons Biglorryblog. Roger tells me: "This is our first season with our new auto div in the East Midlands and we are averaging 75-80 delegates per event. It's free and open to all and for more details contact Alan Curtis on 01889 594630 or e-mail him on alan.curtis@jcb.com And just so you know the event takes place at:
-
Derby University Markeaton campus
-
On Tuesday 31st March 7:00pm for 7:30 start
Sounds like a good night out. And click through here for a nice picture of Dick's B-Double!

Told you... And apart from knowing a thing or three about LHVs Dick is also a keen advocate of 'mission-matching' tyres on his trucks too.

I'm attending this "Exciting Tyre Technology" event on 31st March but despite receiving a map of Derby University campus have no idea of how to access Markeaton Campus building where it is to be held. I am rather lame and need to park nearby but this is not clear on the campus map. Will somebody with "the knowledge" please advise me.
