Here's something for the coal and steam brigade. Today Biglorryblog paid a visit to Wordsworth Holdings in Grantham, home of Fruehauf Trailers whereupon I spied these superb scale models of steam traction engines in the company foyer...quick as a flash I've taken a picture for BLB's anorak army...so what are they?
The connection on the one above is Aveling....now click through here for another view of the top one...
The attention to detail is superb..from the wire and chain steering gear to the 'treads' on the wheels...
I will shot for a Fowler plowing engine ?? Wheres the other one .. based each end of a field they pull and two way plow back and forward to cover muddie land with that healthy under slung winch.. oh for the days of steam
The rahjah
They are actually scale models of the Invicta Aveling Porter engines produced here in Grantham on the Wordsworth Holdings site.
We are still Known as Aveling Barfords here and these were the very early products made here.
They are fully working scale steam model's.
Hope this gives you a little more Information

Agree they are Aveling & Porter engines, but would not have been made at Grantham. The agricultural (middle photo) in particular looks very early. These would have been made in Rochester.
Possibly the models ended up there when the AGE mergers were happening, prior to Aveling Barford emerging? Would the models have been salesman's models?
