The Hampshire County Museum Service is restoring this 1931 Thorneycroft A7 pantechnicon and needs help in establishing its history.

Read on for more details and pictures of the restoration so far.
The Thorneycroft was rescued in 1988 from a garden in Durfold Forest, on the Surrey/Sussex border, where it was attacked by a falling tree during the infamous storm. It is now being restored by the Museum's Conservation Workshop in Thorneycroft's home town of Basingstoke, in preparation for display at the town's Milestones museum. Apart from Thorneycroft's original records which show that it was built in 1931 and sold to G Bashford of Dorking in 1932 for piano deliveries, little is known of its history in the intervening years. One clue is a transfer of the association badge of NAFWR, which was apparently absorbed into BAR in 1972.
If anyone can help fill the gaps, please contact Mark Holloway at mark.holloway@hants.gov.uk or 01962 826700 (and don't forget to tell BLB!).
There's no "e" in Thornycroft, Brian. You don't want to be upsetting Wor Bobby again, do you?
Sorry - it's Colin with the spelling error!!!
