Len and Sandra Ricketts organisers of the Llandudno Transport Festival www.llantransfest.co.uk have contacted Biglorryblog to say: "This year our Festival once again takes place May day Bank Holiday weekend 2nd 3rd 4th May 2009 Bodafon fields, Llandudno."

And they've supplied this cornucopia of old truck pictures to show the kind of superb stuff you'll find there...and in doing so they've given me the perfect midday pie quiz too!  So get naming those waggons!

Meanwhile, Len and Sandra  tell me that visitors can expect the festival fields to be absolutely bursting with up to 150 entries plus 50 in the under 7½ ton class, together with 40 Military, 35 Welsh Modern Trucks, Fire Engines, American Trucks, 90 Buses, Heavy Haulage and Living Vans and all other aspects of Transport plus over 100 Trade Stands!

"Apart from the sea-front Showground event our evening Road Runs are Saturday evening [weather permitting] leaving the fields at 6-00pm to Conwy round the Town through the Town walls and return to Bodafon Fields.  Sunday evening again weather permitting leaving at 5-30pm the Run goes along to the West Shore down to the pier and then along the Marine drive at the base of the Great Orme."

"Sunday and Monday the Street Parades start from the Railway Station in the Town centre at mid-day.  A  free shuttle bus service which over the three days of the show last year carried some 25,000 passengers too and fro between the Victorian Extravaganza 'the Town's event' and the Show ground this year again runs from 10-am to 5pm daily."

The Transport Festival has become the biggest in Wales and is one of the best loved events of its kind in the UK attracting all aspects and high quality transport. More Info can be obtained on our web at Yours sincerely, Len and Sandra."
