
As part of Biglorryblog's on-going 'How to take a nice truck photo' series I thought I'd throw in this one from ace snapper Tom Cunningham. Why? Well because it shows that sometimes even the simjplest photoshoot can go bottoms up. Tom tells me that when he turned up to shoot this rather splendid new Renault Premium belonging to Alford Traffic the driver had gone home with the keys and they needed to get a spare set from the dealer some 30 miles away! Despite that Tom soon got down to work although he was restricted by the space in the yard as to where he could park it and that meant the sun wasn't quite right on the front. So he's used a flash to provide some nice punchy (but above all else even) illumination on the front of the truck. "with flash you can control the light perfectly," Tom tells me. And I thinkl thepuicture proves it. Plus we've got a trademark Cunningham 'worm's eye view' with a wide-agnle lens plus a nice bit of 'dynamic tilt' and the end result is a cracking picture that would grace any double-page spread in CM or T&D.
