It's bad enough that you can't find a place to park in a truckstop---but when you've got to park your truck INSIDE the cafe then you know things have come to a pretty pass....either that or the driver of this artic (and for a pie what is it?) was going at a hell of a lick when he came through the wall!

Meanwhile, that young (and soon to be married) whipper snapper Will Shiers has sent me this picture of the inside the famous Nunney Catch café and truckstop in Frome, Somerset which continues to be a highly popular pull-in for waggon drivers. And you can read Will's cafe report in the June 25th Anniversary Edition of Truck & Driver. And for all of those who guessed correctly the make and model of the truck click through here for your pie....

MT Barney

Looks like a volvo NL10/12 to me.

Richard Stanier

And that "pie" is a pudding, surely???

Martin Phippard

Absolutely correct Barney. Several years ago the owner of Nunney Catch Cafe and Truck Stop asked if Westward Commercials wanted to update the old Volvo truck cut out and we went for an NL just to be a bt different. Gordon - the owner - was subsequently asked by several other truck manufacturers and dealers if they could rent the space but to his credit he always said that it "belonged to Westward". Ironically the NL was completed just before Westward Commercials was taken over by Volvo Truck and Bus South on June 8th 2001. Needless to say I am delighted that there is at least one small remnant of the company I worked for assiduously for more than 20-years.
