New trailer for Suttons Group UK Road Tanker Division.JPG

Word reaches Biglorryblog that Suttons Group www.suttonsgroup.com UK Road Tanker Division has taken delivery of another smart new tank trailer as part of an 11-strong consignment of new high-capacity trailers due to be delivered during 2009. Intriguingly the press release says: "The brand new tanker is designed to take advantage of any future increase in UK permissible weights and has the latest brake intervention and stability control systems."....a future increase in weights? Do they know something I don't? Anyway Suttons Group MD Andrew Palmer tells BLB: "Despite the current general economic gloom, Suttons is continuing its policy of prudent investment in new equipment to support our existing and new customers.." And I'd love to tell you whose trailer it is (i.e. who made it) but they haven't put that vital bit of information in the press release! Ah well...at least I can offer you a pie quiz by asking what's that structure in the background?

Road Rat

All Suttons tankers are made by Clayton Tanks of Burscough. Can I have a chicken and Mushroom this time please ?

Brian,

Looks like it might be Middlesborough Transporter Bridge in the background.

Indeed it is...I can see that beauty from my window...

The only working transporter bridge left in the UK...(Newport's no longer carrying passengers/cars, etc).

Very few were built in the world at all, but the one in Middlesbrough is going strong and is considered the old father of the tees.
