Nick Zea-Smith has sent me this--the very latest in Kiwi sheep-shifters..."Hi Brian, after seeing Australia's attempt at transporting beef in the outback, here is a much more impressive way of moving livestock - the New Zealand way! Over the last few weeks there have been a number of BLB postings from Cam, Vic and various other correspondents in the Southern Hemisphere on Utes and livestock hauliers in former British outposts. This is one ewe-te with a difference that lives somewhere near Christchurch, New Zealand. The pictures were sent to me by Dave Matthews, not of the music band fame, but a good Kiwi 'mate' who lives in Christchurch, NZ (and is an ardent Charlton Athletic fan BTW)." Now click through here for more!

Nick continues: "Before you go scrabbling for news from Wolfsburg of VW entering the livestock transportation market with a newly developed vehicle, fear not. This photo was taken during the Christchurch Santa Parade last year, which is apparently a 'summer' tradition. Not sure whether this slightly extended VW Golf is used as rapid response livestock transporter, marketing tool for a local cab firm or was someone's idea of a laugh over a Speight or three, but it might spark some interest from your overseas readers. Best wishes Nick."
