Fuel tankers in the UK....around 80% are MANs reckons Des Evans. And who is Biglorryblog to argue?

Off to the MAN Press conference where an ebullient Des Evans declares that: "Nearly 80% of all fuel in the UK is delivered by an MAN." I'd never really thought of it before like that. But here are some pictures of MAN tankers to help prove it... I believe this one is on the Shell/Hoyer contract. All of which leaves me wondering how much of a help it was to have had ERF in the 'family' before it was phased out---after all, ERF was a very popular truck with the petroleum fleets until its sad demise...still no use dwelling on the past, the petroleum companies are clearly buying for the future with TGS et al.

That said to win that kind of busines you definitely need decent back-up and MAN ops deirector Dave Cussans tells BLB: "We've set up a highly specialised network of 'hazchem dealers' supporting hazchem operators---we intend to stay as market leaders" And Aquila Truck centres is clearly one of those hazchem tanker dealer 'experts.'
