Following on from the recent blogs on the mighty Euclid 210 gas turbine monster dump truck and gas turbines in general Biglrryblog's man in New Guinea Dave Wesbster (who ran a 210 gas turbine Euclid) has kindly sent me these shots of one being built up 'in the field' as it were... Literally!

"Hi," says dave, "Here's some shots taken in Bougainville of the gas turbine R210 being assembled... Note the lack of safety gear If you were doing the same job today the SUPER SNOOPY safety guy would have a fit! Cheers, Dave." Now click through here for more... And where did I leave the tube of glue...?

Hard hat? What hard hat? And note the twin FRONT wheels on this baby...

Now it's time top crane on the dump body, the driving cab has already been added.

Almost there... Just slip tab 'A' into slot 'B' and you're there. And now you can see just how BIG the Euclid 210 was! The people in this pohto look like ants... And thanks to Dave for the great pictures.

The construction field always has it ups and downs and is always changing but progress will never stop. Even in a questionable economy there is always room for growth and expansion. The will and strength of the people is what makes us all able to move forward and accomplish great feats together and construction has always been the backbone of this country no matter the economic status.
