Could it finally be over? It seems like ages (well last August anyway) since Andrew Cooper's well-run-in Peterbilt first arrived on the shores of good old Blighty looking remarkably like this... And a lot has happened since then as he and his friends and family have painstakingly restored it within 'Project Peterbilt' and now all the hard work has paid off... So click through here for the final chapter!

And here she is... What a beauty too! Andrew has sent me his final photos and says: "Hi Brian - sorry not to have blogged on 'Project Peterbilt' for a few weeks, but we've all been extremely busy putting the finishing touches to a truck that I am so pleased with! Words fail me! (which is rare). Last Thursday night me and my mate Stan took her out for the first time ever."

Andrew adds: "I am so pleased to say that her Thursday night 'shake down' went very well.In fact it couldn't have been any better.so grabbing the bull by the horns me and a very excited Harry Cooper set sail for the Abergavenny Steam Fair, where i think it's fair to say that several people expressed a bit more than just a little intrest in her!"

"We also had, without doubt, the most comfortable and spacious night out experience I have ever experienced in all my years of sleeping in trucks. In attendance at Abergavenny were many bloggers and others who have helped along the way, including electrical supremo Ken Britton (see photo with me and him - I'm in the red hat) Ken brought his whole family to the show for them to see the truck that he carried out over 100 hours of work on."

"With regard to people's intrest and reactions then this truck has amazed me. People who have known me long enough know that over the years I've restored three trucks that have all been regularly seen all over the UK from the South Coast to Scotland. But this 'Yankee Clipper' really is something else! When you go down the road, everyone seems to be so pleased to see it and wave, video or just come over for a closer look. This reaction has simply astonished me,as I've never had such friendly positive feedback from any of my European truck restorations. So what started as an American ebay purchase last August has come to an end - or you could say that this is just the begining. I've really enjoyed every one of the many hundreds of hours that I've put into this truck and there have been so many people in the UK and Overseas who've all helped along the way that I can't thank them all by name individually.so I'll just say to everyone involved my sincere thanks for all the help, support, advice and assistance that has enabled us to restore/create this classic iconic Yankee Clipper into what you see before you today!"

Great job AC and it's been Biglorryblog's pleasure and privilege to chart it's progress along the way too! Rioll on Gaydon and the Steel Boys meet - in true transport style, you've hit the deadline mate! And if you click on Ashley L's Abergavenny Show report on BLB you'll see the fantastic airbrush work done on the back of the Pete!

A,
Been a great journey following you and the trials and tribulations of large vehicle restoration, even if only electronically from afar. Congratulations on a major project completion and the magnificent result, and I promise I wont refer to leeks or sheep again!

Congrats Andrew on a truly amazing job. You must be very proud. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh one day despite the fact that I am really a KW man!

That is just fantastic, Andrew! Like Jerry, I've been following the restoration from a long way away, but I'm hoping that somehow I'll get a chance to see it in the metal when I'm in the UK in July/August.

Andrew, WOW, in true "Coops" style PP is a real class act, she looks fantastic out side the workshop, and even more imposing. Cant wait to see it in Upton on the 12th, bet some "good old boys" on a night out will lament tales of ...I drove one of those.....yeh right!, bit like the F88 with a Gardner engine???? from 2006.
Just for the rcord,...was the paint job a tribute to Ralph Davies , or was it one of theres??? LOL
