No it's not a dreadful mistake at the bodybuilders! Or a truck that's just run into the back of a coach... In fact it's a very clever way to combine a passenger carrying vehicle and a load carrier at the same time. Just after I dropped off the FH16.660 XXL this morning (see my earlier blog) at a Volvo Truck Centre near Oslo airport I spied this rather splendid beast. in the dealership's car park. Torstein Magelssen PR and market communication manager for Norway tells me it's actually used by a travelling theatre group as it can carry both the cast and support team plus all their gear and props in the back. It works for me! Now click through here for an old-timer...
Tucked away in the corner of the truck centre, next to a smart new FH was this old-timer. So for a pie quiz what is it, and I want the year, make and model?

1968 Scania L 80. If it was earlier, it would be Scania-Vabis.
As always, I could be wrong.

The former Strathclyde Buses operated a Dodge Commando on the Isle of Arran which had bus bodywork on the first third of the chassis length with the remainder carrying a demountable bus or van body according to demand. The vehicle B949 YHS is still exists, according to the DVLA, but is currently unlicensed.
Dave Powell - Is this the vehicle you speak of?

Re. Stu's comment, Yes that is the vehicle.
These type of buses is a quite common sight in Sweden aswell. Some are used as post buses to deliver mail along rural lines.
