I've had a whole shed-load of images slowly building up on my Biglorryblog desktop so I thought I'd put them all together in one blog..so let's kick off with this classis old-timer. It's from Martin 'The Keeper of the Flame' Phippard who tells me: "I thought BLB readers and watchers might appreciate this rather smart Vovo F12 Globetrotter in the old colours of M&D Transport from Torrington in North Devon. As I recall this was a 6x2 tag and was used on a regular run down to Gibralter. The man at the wheel is founder Dave Stapleton Senior by the way Cheers, Martin."
And just to show I not playing any favourites amongst the Swedes ths has been sent in to me by Gyles Carpenter who says: "Greetings Brian, for all the Scania fans present, a 112M from the Reids Transport fleet, seen by Auchenmalg Balg on the Ayrshire run. Regards, Gyles." Now click through here for something a little...'older'

I've been sent some shots from the recent Ayr run by Alex Saville including this one of a 1975 Atki (I think) from Jim Leeson in Irvine...

Another Reid's waggon..but from another era.. Scammelll Routeman, again from 1975 from Robert Laidlaw.Minishant, Ayreshire.
.
I can remember sitting in that very same Volvo F12 Globetrotter of M & D's at a volvo event when I was 11 thought it was the "dogs danglers".
Coles plant hire had a new F12 6x4 heavy haulage
tractor at the same time.
Hey 'young' Barney! Where was the Road Show you attended? Perhaps Exeter or even Barnstaple? We did so many back in the 1980s that I forget them all. It would be interesting to know. Thanks, Martin.
