I thought it was about time we featured one of those wonderful American LaFrance http://www.americanlafrance.com/ fire trucks on Biglorryblog and here's a recent delivery to the burgh of Lambertville. And they've chosen a 75' Mid-Mount Tower Eagle six-wheeler with a throbby 515hp Detroit Diesel S60 and Allison 4000 EVS autobox. That should get them to the fire in a hurry. Now click through here for some more...

Now here's a REAL Amercian LaFrance fire truck - it's an artic or as they call it a tractor drawn aerial for the Roseville Fire Dept. in California which has a 515hp Detroit Diesel S60 and Allison auto and has an overall length of 56'-5". Now here's a question. Biglorryblog seems to recall that some toy manufacturer made a model American LaFrance artic fire engine... But who was it? Dinky? Corgi? Spot-On? Triang? MatchBox? You tell me... And have you got any pictures of it? And for a (heated) pie which 60s pop group had a hit with the song 'Fire Brigade'...?

The model American LaFrance artic ladder was by Corgi. There's a picture here -

I think that rather annoying record was by The Move.
Recently American LaFrance have been offering a municipal chassis, "The Condor" which was previously a Sterling/Freightliner truck.
corgi and the band was the 'The Move'
