Thanks to Peter Zadelaar in Holland I can brign you these excellent old Commercial Motor covers from 1940. (Put that light out!) And what a pair of beauties too. Fordson and Thames! So what was the relationship between the two eh?

And how about this duo too? But the real winner is next so click through here to see it!

This is also from a 1940 copy of CM and shows an ERF (and for a 'Woolton' pie what model is it?) complete with black-out gurad on the headlamp. But it's the words that caught Bigloryblog's attention. The ad reads thus: "Although the Government have first claim to our resources, and in consequence the world's best lorry is being turned out in even greater numbers then ever before, it is not causing us to forget our freinds in the road transport industry. Order for new vehicles, for spares, or for service, are still receiving every posible attention and will continue to do so. If your needs are not so promptly met as they used to be, we ask your forbearance - you are not being forgotten. Signed E.R.Foden and Dennis Foden".
What a cracking piece of history Peter and thanks for sending it to BLB!

Peter Zadelaar should look after those old copies of CM.At the Goodwood Revival 3 years ago copies of the same age were being offered in excess of £400.
