I might be getting the wrong end of the stick but I think that Andrzej Lazar in Gdynia,Poland may have identified the mystery Argentinian truck sent to me by Simon Adamson as a KRAZ 257--or at least a KRAZ or some sort. And you can click through here to see if he's right---but I reckon it's close enough for jazz http://www.oldrussiancars.com/category/trucks/kraz-257/
Andrzej says: "You can still see similiar Kraz 255 and 256s on Polish roads especially in Gdynia, because near there town there's a military base and Kraz trucks from the '70s are still in use there..Last month I talked with driver of a Kraz 255 who told me it was 27-years old but had only done 6000km!!! (He normally only drives it in the military base)." Now click through here for some Russian dumpers!
A double-tough Kamaz which obviously takes some sort of implement on the front--possibly a plough?
What do you think?
Hi Brian,
The answer on the sort of implement on the front of your KAMAZ.
After the LDV disaster I enjoy my pre-pension now! More time for my hobbies and a couple of days in a month a trip with a truck or a coach. Why not!
Have fun overthere.
Henk
The KAMAZ is fitted with a mounting plate for a snow plough. Such attachments used to be quite common in Poland. Not so much now, with the global warming and all..
Cheers,
Andrzej
