"Here's one for the Aussies," says Vic Hungerford in New Zealand."...so Pete, Cam, Rayjay, in Oz what do you make of this? On Monday I parked at the Interislander ferry terminal next to this 8-wheeler stock truck with its 4-axle trailer. The normal International T-Line cab, Atkinson grille but with an Eagle in place of the Big A, F4870 badge, Cummins 444 engine and 15-speed Roadranger. According to the driver, it was bought new like that as an International Eagle. A New Zealand special, or were they sold like that in Oz as well? Cheers, Vic." Now click through here for one more....

And that's Vic's beloved Inter just poking its nose into the picture..and why not?

I think this might hve been a NZ special - AtkiPete can correct me if I am wrong!

A bit of Kiwi badge engineering there I think, in Australia this would have been sold as an International TF2670 with the Atkinson 4870 badge reserved for the sleeper cab version. I understand that on that time IH in NZ did not have rights to use the Atkinson name over there, or chose not to do so to avoid confusion with the Seddon Atkinson 400 model imported from the UK.

I`ve never seen any of those badges in OZ.The old 3070`s had an Eagle model with a bit more of a subtle eagle badge above the 3070 badge. They where the Deeee-lux model,Air Conditioner, cab lights, air horn,15 speed box,and a flash red/white paint job.
