I've had this knocking around my inbox for a while. It's from Biglorryblog's old Aussie mate Gary 'Two Hats ' Richards who is National Manager - Product Mgmt & Promotion for Mack and Volvop downunder. Gary has picked up on the recent thread running on BLB about gas turbine trucks and says:" Seeing the discussion on the various GT developments, I thought I would wade in with my Mack hat...I think I am safe in saying that the only surviving North American prototype is the Mack Cruise-liner....It is on display at the Mack Museum in Allentown and pictured above."

The pictures come from the www.trombinoscar.com website which BLB e-mailed to see if they minded my using the pictures....but got no reply so I trust they have no objection. And if it helps their site is well worth a visit as it's got a whole load of other interesting stuff too!

Gary also supplied this bonneted gas turbine bulldog too..Anyone know anything more about it? .Now click through here for more...

Gary continues: "I also recall a feature article in an old Bulldog magazine but thought I would call on the French to help ..so the attached pics are from the Trombinoscar website - this is very much how the truck looked when I saw it 2 years ago."

The museum looks Like a place worth visiting. I went to Allentown many years ago when they hadn't long been a part of Renault and drove a Mack Magnum with an Eaton Autoshift box.

The gas turbine engine certainly looks a  bit chunky! And here's the 'data plate' on it.

And my thanks to Gary and acknowledgements again to Trombinoscar .
