As a long time partner of fire-fighters (or as we on Biglorryblog say Sapeurs and Pompiers) as well as local authority fire-fighting and rescue departments, Renault Trucks has set up a dedicated 'Urban Fire-fighting Bodybuilder Department', offering emergency services a single contact capable of responding rapidly to their specific needs. And to further cement that relationship Renault has launched a new, extended cab, Midlum Fire Tender and here it is...

The Midlum's crew cab has been extended by 18 cm and the shape of the bodywork revised to help improve access and egress for fire-fighters, while a special 'fire-fighting' version of Renault's Optitronic auto has also been developed which can reduce fuel consumption by up to 7%...now click through here for more...

Meanwhile here's another of the Renault fire truck range, the Mascott VSR (intervention and rescue vehicle).

Big Lorry Blog may say Sapeurs and Pompiers, Brian, but Big Lorry Blog is not correct! Big Lorry Blog would still not be correct in saying Sapeurs ET Pompiers, either.

It is not Sappers AND Pumpers which has no meaning really when referring to firefighters.

It is Sapeurs-Pompiers.

I must be getting pedantic in my old age, probably always have been really when it comes to language!

We're still waiting for some kitchen photos, by the way!
