As ever 'The Brochure King' has come up with the goods--not least on the tall ERF 'European' Biglorryblog was so interested in. "Hi Brian," he says, "here's a picture of the ERF "European", aka the NGC 380/ NGC 420 from April 1974. I used to love these trucks and it's quite nostalgic to see these photos taken on the yard at the front of the old Sun Works. The NGC 380 was powered by a 14-litre Cummins rated up to 335hp when turbocharged, driving through a Fuller 9509A Roadranger 'box and riding on Kirkstall Axles. The Motor Panels cab was designated '7MW', with the earlier, smaller steel cab being referred to as the '5MW'. Now click through here to see its interior..very impressive!

Rich continues: "As can be seen in this shot of the interior, the cab was pretty well appointed, and unlike most of the other Motor Panels Mark IV and V cab applications, it was tiltable.Cheers! R." Thanks TBK -- indeed it remind me a bit of the straight-across Transcontinental dash. Just think with some decent European back-up it could have been a real 'Euro' contender and Scania eater!
Meanwhile, does anyone have any shots of the subsequent (and much later) ERF 'export drive' of the 90s when they tried to sell EC left-hookers with the Rolls Royce engine in Spain and France? I seem to recall Paul Foden (Peter Foden's son) was in charge of the project as export manager. I actually saw one in France last year on my hols---but sadly Mrs BLB had banned me from carrying a camera on the grounds that I might end up taking pictures of French camions. The same day I also saw a French-registered Sisu logging tractor...sacre bleu!
