AtkiPete Lynch is (as far as I know) back in Oz now after his recent trip tp Kiwi land...and he says: "G'day Brian, here's a rather heavy duty Kiwi Camper sent to be by senior anorak Hugh Schofield of Christchurch. Are the Kiwi weight limits so restrictive that even a camper van needs 3-axles or is there something more about this one than meets the eye?" Meanwhile click through here for a Kiwi camper that's altogether in a class of its own!

Pete continues: "New Zealand has heaps of camper vans and I thought they were a pretty recent idea till I saw this one built on a 1926 Inter truck chassis in the Geraldine Vintage car and Machinery Museum."

"The workmanship is first class and the fittings really solid, a little bit like those 1930s railway carriages. Not that I am old enough to remember them!" Love the sofa Pete...!![Geraldine_Inter_3[1].jpg](http://www.roadtransport.com/blogs/big-lorry-blog/Geraldine_Inter_3%5B1%5D.jpg)
Mmmmm...and nice wicker work too!
I think that the International Camper was built by John Britten of motorcycle fame.
That is correct, “built by the late John Britten of motorcycle racing fame. His motor cycle still holds the world record at Daytona for a 1000cc engine motor cycle.” Someone with such a passion for speed would find the old Inter a delightful contrast..
