"Hello Brian", says Gyles Carpenter. "I'm sending you this pic in light of Bob Tuck's mentioning of the first Anglo-Scottish run. Kind regards, Gyles."And look carefully and you can see Tucky in the passenger seat too! Now for a quick pie, it's an AEC but what model and year?
What a great photo! The lorry is an AEC Mammoth Major Mark V (5). The Mark V models were built from approximately 1958 to 1964, I think. One of my all-time favourite Pommie lorries!
Vic - the AEC Mark V is also one of my favourites and this particular example was a great motor to drive. And the trailer followed a treat. Thanks Gyles for bringing back the memory. Happy Days.
