Something is stirring in the forest..something with real 'guts!' Yes Biglorryblog thought it was long overdue that we had a Sisu timber hauler on the blog and so, for the last posting of tonight, how about this big bolstered blue beauty? And if you want more information on Finml;and's double-touch truck range click through here http://www.sisu-trucks.com/portal/en/products/sisu_timber/ And keep reading for more top timber trucks....
Mmmm..nice. And now available with either a 13-litre DXi engine from Renault (OK Volvo's 'Group Powertrain Division') at 460 and 500hp or a throbby Cat C16 up to 630hp (and it's got a Fuller box too Vic!)
The things they can squeeze under that Renault Premium cab is very impressive...don't you think? And in case your wondering why I keep talking about 'guts', it's because Sisu translates into that word in English...very appropriate I'd say!
(and it's got a Fuller box too Vic!)
Of course, Brian! For a company like Sisu which makes great trucks, what other choice is there?
You have to hand it to the styling department at SISU. They have certainly transformed the Premium cab and made the SISU look really appealing. Great shots by the way.

The wife is a finn, I rest my case
I have heard it suggested that Sisu may pull out of the commercial market and concentrate on it military business. Something to do with the credit crunch and perhaps the introduction of Euro5? I understand that Caterpillar have not certified their engines for Euro5. There is nothing to find on the web that confirms or denies this rumour. Does anyone know more about this?
John, all I know is that during these tough times with regular haulage SISU is concentrating its efforts on the military markets. They have also pulled out of the Swiss market which is a great shame. But I certainly have not heard any suggestion that they might "Do an Oshkosh" and pull out of the haulage markets completely. Geesh, what a DREADFUL thought!
I agree with 'The Keeper of the Flame' that it would be sad day indeed if a small energetic company with a proud history like SISU ever stopped making trucks for the civilian market. Over the past decades we've lost far to many famous truck making companies, either swallowed up by the giants or fallen by the way side. I'll back Sisu to remain a 'gutsy' performer for many more years to come. Biglorryblog.
