Terry's ancient Atkinson is still doing a good day's work says Biglorryblog!

Here's a man who looks happy in his work and why wouldn't he considering the truck he's driving..but it's not exactly what you'd call 'modern'...indeed the curving windscreen, simple dash and lack of head restraint on the seat should be a dead give away...and in the words of the great Rolf Harris: 'Can you guess what it is yet?' Well don't worry if you can't as Biglorryblog has the full explanation waiting for you once you've clicked through here!

This comes to me courtesy of Bob Tuck and will surely bring deep joy to Pete and Chris. Meanwhile Bob says: "Brian, I know you sometimes do previews of what might be appearing soon in different mags (or even what trucks are for sale etc). But what about a 'post view' of what appeared in last month's T&D (although I haven't got the latest yet - I know not why). I know all your BLB readers don't see T&D but Terry Godbold's Atki is worth another mention."

"Surely," says Bob, "it must be the oldest working Atky in the UK - unless anyone on BLB can tell us different. I've attached an image of what it looked like when he bought it when about 3 years old. I first did a story on Terry and his motor for TRUCK's Soldiering On section back in 1994. We thought it a bit odd then that a 1975 Atky was still in use. Not sure how you'd describe it now! Great stuff what...? Bob"

And he's also sent me this shot of the Classic Atki in Wisbech Roadways' colours...before it ended up with Terry.

It's not A classic Atki, but the very same machine, before it grew an extra axle, and before it went from 220 bhp and 32 tons to 350 bhp and 38 tonnes!
