Maxter (1994-1996).jpg

Gary 'Two-Hats' has clearly been following the recent thread on the renault G-raneg aND manager. well it seems that both models made it to Oz as Macks for Gazza says: "Hi Brian,a bit belated but meant to add to your Jan 23rd pondering on the G range sales performance in the UK. The Manager and Maxter was my first exposure to European cabovers - as part of the ever expanding Mack offer in Oz in the early 90's. As you see there was a degree of local adaptations (bogie drive, Eaton transmissions, etc) but they too faced some stiff competition from the numerous other COE suppliers and failed to really trouble the scorers with their sales numbers." now click through here for more...

Gary continues: "Of course, the G-range was replaced with Mack-badged Midlum, Premium Distribution and Routes and, the big daddy, Magnum....but that is another story!! Gary." well GR perhaps you'll send us some shots of the Mack-badged Magnum, complete with Cummins ISM under the hood!

G'day Gary,

You'd be glad to hear that the Pioneer Road Services Manager tar tanker in the photo below is still in service at the PRS Dubbo branch! Although it's still there, it is not a tar tanker anymore - it's a tipper! The tar tanker is now on a old school Volvo FM12 chassis!

And the plates and exhaust stack on it are different now to when that photo was taken!

Joe
