Call that a fire engine mate? Nah THIS is a fire engine! "G'day Brian," says AtkiPete Lynch in that chirpy 'she'll be right!' manner we've come to expect and love on Biglorryblog. I've been neglecting you Pete as you sent me these a while back and I've meant to post them up sooner. Anyroadup he says: "Here are a few photos from The Museum of Fire at Penrith. All sorts of pre-loved Aussie fire engines and other exhibits...." And what better way than to start off with an Inter 6x6 for bush-fires...? Now click through here for more..
Pete continues: "The info about the Mack said this was a Thermodyne petrol but I thought Therodynes were all diesel engines. Now I need to get to the bottom of this as I am hoping to pass myself off as a Mack enthusiast at the forthcoming Muster."
"This Ahrens Fox looks like a handful to drive, 18-litre petrol six ( not sure who made that) single tyres all round and that hugh front-mounted pump!"
"Here's a close-up on the engine..." says Pete and I seem to recall Clutchslip spotted on of these at the last Historic London-to-Brighton Rally...
And naturally as this comes from AtkiPete Lynch we had to have some ACCOs from him!
And how about a Diamond T?
And here's a Ford in front of the Musuem...great stuff Pete.

I've had a ride around the grounds in that old D series a few years back. I was at the museuim when I was last over in Australia in December, there's some other interesting stuff there too, including an unusual low cabbed Iveco Magirus aerial platform.
