Ginsters 1.jpg

Well this should keep 'Clutchslip' happy as he's always complaining that he never gets a pie from Biglorryblog. Well just to prove him wrong he's a whole van load of them! What's more "premier pasty maker Ginsters" (I'll leave the 'Kernow Kid' to add his own comments...) "...is reporting fuel savings of up to 23% from a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van fitted with Merc's innovative ECO-Start system. BLB learns that Ginsters recently bought its first three-pointed star waggons by ordering a fleet of 38 Sprinter chassis cabs from Andover dealer Pentagon Commercials. And also that the ECO-Start Sprinter 313 CDI demo unit which is operating in London's congested streets and returning an impressive 22mpg - a full 5mpg better than other, non-Mercedes vehicles that undertake the same work. Now click through here to find out what ECO-Start might do for you......

And for a pie...what should go in the perfect pasty? Mince (lamb or beef?) carrot (NO!) Turnip (maybe) potato (perhaps) brocolli (now you're taking the mickey...!) Post up your perfect pasty recipe now!

And here it is. This picture has been provided to Biglorryblog by Tony Cauchi in Malta--who recently started off the blogging stream on Britannia dustcarts. However, this time he says: Hi Brian, I thought I'd show you this small truck that I saw yesterday in a Classic Car Show....it's a Daihatsu but seems to be copied off the old Scammell Scarab.... In the meantime I'm trying to figure what that stirrup device is around the front wheel...and can you guess (for a pie) what it's parked next to? Restyled Transit

Do you think the whole library of safety notices on the back of this Transit Tipper has one that says "Do not tip body when tailboard is lowered"? Probably not!

If you were at the recent CV Show, you may have seen this evocative Anglia-based Walls ice-cream van (or Thames 307E to be strictly accurate).

Now Andy Saunders, the man behind some of the country's strangest custom vehicles, has been tasked with creating an ice-cream van for the 21st Century. Enter the Hyundai i10  - and yes, in the interests of journalistic research, the product was suitably sampled.

Pickup a crap Toyota

Well I have seen some crap homemade pickup truck conversions in our time, but this really is the worst. What was this person thinking?
Check out the plywood flatbed on what I believe used to be a Toyota Corolla estate. Look at the joists underneath it and the crude metal rods supposedly attaching it to the roof of the car. This really is the worst commercial vehicle I have ever seen.
In the words of Jeremy Clarkson (talking about a Toyota Yaris at the time), how many volts of electricity would you have to have pumped through your testicles before you would drive one of these?

Road transport is often seen as a macho business, but no such accusations can be aimed at this Horsham VW Transporter dropside advertising some kind of ladies enhancement service (and no, the large bush isn't part of the load).

They're back...and this time it's serious! Biglorryblog is pleased to reveal that Nissan is continuing its drive into the light commercial market with the re-introduction of its 2.5-litre diesel one-tonne pickup---now re-named NP300---which makes its debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show on April 15.

The NP300 will be available in three bodystyles; Single Cab, King Cab and Double Cab, with the latter being available from late summer. You can fit three people into the NP300 Single Cab which apparently also comes with the largest bed in the range, measuring 2.2m in length and 1.4m wide.

According to Nissan: "It's the ideal tough, durable pick-up traditionally used for hard working self-employed sole traders [there's two of them, Bert and Harry, pictured above] typically working in remote locations, on construction sites, agriculture, or landscaping projects. The Single Cab will be offered with both two and four-wheel drive.

The King Cab NP300 has (rather strangely I thought, given its name) room for two people, but also offering secure storage space inside the cabin for tools and materials. Meanwhile the Double Cab can seat up to five. With a maximum payload of 1,115kg, the NP300 has a powerful yet frugal Euro-4 compliant 2.5-litre diesel delivering 133hp and 304Nm of torque.
