Angry over pay cuts, being made redundant, clashing with colleagues...of course there are all times we've seen red over our jobs, but shockingly one trucker murdered his boss and tried to kill three other employees during a four-hour ordeal.
Last October we revealed 52-year old HGV driver Russell Carter had been remanded in custody charged with murder and three counts of attempted murder. He was found guilty of all charges at Newport Crown Court on Friday 11 September.
The court heard Carter of Rumney, Cardiff, had gone to the premises of Driverline 247 in Pontypool, South Wales armed with a gun and demanding £3,000 he said he was owed.
The ordeal involved:
- bounding boss Kingsley Monk with rope and duct tape before strangling him.
- the gagging of three other employees and dousing them with petrol
- setting fire to the offices.
Carter had dual US-UK citizenship and had two previous convictions for armed robbery in the US.
He will be sentenced on 23 October where I will look more into this harrowing case...

Jo thanks for making this new blog it should definitely be interesting reading!
I can't believe this case, sickening, and really makes you wonder about your own situation... The hours I work (night) and the fact our depot is in the middle of nowhere... something like this could happen to me! Thanks for putting that idea in my mind!
But seriously, thanks again for making this blog, working in the industry myself I'll be reading it often, just hope I don't get too many nightmares!
Darren
We all heard stories of bosses taking advantage of employees especially in a recession and its unfair that they get away with it It was only a matter of time that someone would snap. Unfortunatly this time it was a lunatic.
