Global Specialised Services, a logistics company based in Cardiff, has made a key appointment to its sales team with Kirsty-Leigh Cox joining as sales manager.

Miss Cox joins GSS from DHL, where she was an account manager, and previously spent three years at TNT.

In her new role, Miss Cox, 23, from Cardiff, will be responsible for retaining and developing existing accounts, while expanding the company's client portfolio.

Miss Cox joins at a time when GSS is expanding rapidly, with the recent appointment of new operations manager Brian Young and a strategic move into offering storage and warehouse facilities to its clients, as well as its freight forwarding and distribution services.

Miss Cox says: "I'm delighted to be joining GSS at such an exciting period when we are expanding our services to further help us become an extension of our customers' businesses.

"One of the main reasons I joined GSS was the close knit team here and the strong emphasis it has on customer service. I was also particularly attracted to GSS's overseas links with GLN (Global Logistics Network) and, as a member of the British International Freight Association (BIFA), its work in importing and exporting goods.

"I'm really looking forwarding to building further on the relationships we have with our existing clients and getting an even better understanding of their business. By speaking not only to our customers, but also finding out who their clients are and liaising directly with end-users, we are better placed to offer the flexibility and understanding that can help our customers meet all their critical deadlines."

Operations manager at GSS, Brian Young, says: "The experience and enthusiasm that Kirsty-Leigh brings to her role will be vital as we look to grow the business further while continuing to place a large emphasis on customer service.
