Volvo has plugged a gap in its engine line-up with the launch of a new 540hp rating of the Volvo FH16, but quite why operators will want this smaller rating of the big 16-litre motor is anyone's guess.
Before this new addition the FH16 was available in 660 and 580hp form and for power options lower than that you were advised to go for the new 13-litre engine - available in a top power rating of 520hp. We don't expect the 540hp FH16 to be a popular UK choice.
