Towby

I was very happy - it was a nice day, the sun was shining and most importantly my Renault Master seemed to be working very well. Though the battery was not fully charged, the warning light went off the moment more revs were applied - that means it's charging and all is well.

WRONG! Positive thinking does not always pay off. The Frenchy was fine until it died suddenly, without the warning signs from last time, at a bus stop. It could count itself lucky that I don't have arms like Mike Tyson, or it might have had a large hole in the driver door.

At the same time Colin had not yet had breakfast, which made him and me a dangerous combination. Yet Colin stayed calm and got out the rope and attached it between the mobile skip and our Nissan Navara support vehicle, driven by web- and now towmaster Toby.

The final two miles were slow and relatively uneventful, but we managed to get the Master to the test track. How do you test a broken van though??????

All this proves to me Dylan is that you can't trust the French even when you think they are being good to you!
