How does it compare with an Albion?

AlbionLo.JPG

Back in 1966 Albions set the standard - at least that's what Leyland wanted us to believe.
This advertisment for the Chieftain Four claimed: "Sooner or later, in any discussion on vehicles, someone will ask 'How does it compare with an Albion?' For as a yardstick of up-to-the-minute yet dependable design, efficient performance and long vehicle life, the Clyde-built Albion sets acknowledged standards".
But unfortunately for Albion, the 'how does it compare with an Albion' argument wouldn't always work in its favour because in a few years time people would be asking "How does your new Volvo compare with an Albion?"
