Old vans in Malta - Will's Roadtransport Revival

Check out these wonderful old vans still working for a living in Malta - all courtesy of Commercial Motor's operations editor Colin Barnett.

Maltese climate has been kind to this old Bedford CA

This Morris Minor pickup's ragtop has seen better days, but the bodywork is still sound.

Judging by the wheels, go-faster stripes and 'Marina 1300cc' badge, somebody obviously liked this Marina van once. But not any more!

This Mk2 Transit is in perfect condition.

D Powell:

The Minor pick up has different bodywork from the UK model. these are old UK vans and pick ups which have had the body removedand which have had the prop shaft disconnected and the chassis cut just behind the cab, to allow more to be crammed into a shipping container. On arrival in Malta the chassis is re-welded in backstreet garages (usually without strengthening plates) and a locally made cab rear bulkhead and pick up body fitted.
