Welcome to Webwatch, a regular series in which we put used truck dealers' websites under the microscope. Today is the turn of Preston-based MM Acquisitions.
Company: MM Acquisitions
Address: www.mmacquisitions.com
Homepage
The MM Acquisitions homepage (shown below) is certainly packed with information. It is dominated by the centrally positioned 'truck of the week' (which changes every time you refresh the page), and the column of 'new arrivals' on the right.
But don't panic. The links for navigating around the site can be found along the top of the page, and the links for accessing the stocklist can be found on the left, all arranged in alphabetical order.

Product search
Pick a manufacturer from the list on the homepage, and then narrow down your search by choosing a type of vehicle (such as 'Boxvan' or 'Pickup') from the options given. If you aren't concerned about finding a vehicle from a particular manufacturer, your best bet is to click on the 'Stock' link, found towards the top left of any page, and then just choose the type of vehicle you are looking for by selecting the appropriate thumbnail image (as shown below).

Unfortunately, the website doesn't have a 'search' function as such, so you will just have to browse through the appropriate categories until you find what you are looking for. However, the numbers in brackets following the category names do give you an indication of how many vehicles of each type are currently in stock.
At the time of writing, the most well-represented marques were Daf and Scania, with tractor units predominating. A small number of light CVs and plant were also available. As with most dealer websites, price is on application.
If a particular vehicle catches your eye, click on its thumbnail image to see a larger picture, and - for many of the items in stock - additional photos taken from different angles. Fairly detailed information is provided for each vehicle, including the make, model, year, horsepower, suspension, gearbox and kit.
To express interest in a vehicle, click the prominent 'CONTACT US NOW!' button found underneath the vehicle spec and complete the online form.
Other pages
Three further pages can be accessed via the links found at the top of the MM Acquisitions homepage. The first is 'About Us', which gives you information on the history of the firm and the range of services it offers; the second is 'Auctions', which is handy if you want to learn about the online auctions that MM Acquisitions is due to start in September; and the third
is 'Contact', which takes you to a page containing the company's contact details and an online form, so you can request a call-back at a particular time or on a certain day.
On this last page, you will also find a small 'Click Here For Maps' link so you can find your way to the firm's site in Preston, Lancashire.

The MM Acquisitions website has all the information you need and a good selection of vehicles - it's just a question of finding what you're looking for...
