Cevian Restores Volvo Voting Rights.

The pissing contest that is AB Volvo vs Cevian is back on the bill, with this news that Christer Gardell has upped his voting stake to 4.6 per cent. Some weeks ago, Cevian’s partner in mischief, partner fund Parvus decided to leave the joint venture – Violet Partners LP - set up by the two firms to hold a joint stake in Volvo. This decision reduced Violet's stake in Volvo to 4.2 pct of votes and 1.6 pct of capital.

We want to know what happens when the French government decides that it has had enough of its stake in Renault SA, and Renault SA decides that it has no further use for its 22 per cent or so stake in AB Volvo. This would be a gift for GAZ, and the thought of Gardell and GAZ going at it fills us with glee.
