This Sunday's edition of the Johannesburg Sunday Times carried some cracking allegations about MAN AG's subsidiary MAN Ferostaal, including a remarkable accusation that surrounds a disappearing condom factory, a trick certainly worthy of the next Penn & Teller TV special, and which allows us to refer to the whole debacle as Rubbergate.  Cheap and obvious we know, but you know us by now.

In sum, MAN AG does seem to have got itself in a bit of a pickle. No change for its operations in South Africa - (see WTBs passim) - but, nonetheless,  rather diverting for the rest of us. Of course, and in the interests of balance, here's a link to MAN AG's rather less breathless statement, but quite where this stands on the Public Relations debacle scale - which boasts Toyota's mobile execution van as the pinnacle of the piss poor - remains to be seen.
