MAN Banks €490 Million in Ferrostaal Sale

MAN has offloaded 70 per cent of its Ferrostaal business to the Abu Dhabi state International Petroleum Investment Corporation (IPIC).

In doing so, its banked €490 million, cash which might just be used to snap up a bit more of Scania. Given that Porsche doesn't want the Swedish OEM - or, for that matter, any other truck manufacturer - the way seems clear for MAN to do the business here.

Of course, what gets more interesting is what happens next. Will A Porsche controlled VW sit on its stake in a combined MAN-Scania-VW CV for a while and then seek to monetize it via a sale when things begin to look up?
