Navistar's Spiral of Despair: Where's Endres?

Helmut Endres was VP Engineering at Navistar's Engine Group. And now he isn't - he's gone. House on the market, and leaving not a wrack behind. Kudos to Automotive World for breaking the news.

Odd behaviour though; after all, NAV has - if we are to believe the propaganda - a huge market advantage with its EGR - alone solution at EPA 10. HE's departure suggests that he may no longer subscribe to that vision. Rather ironically, perhaps, his last public duty with a navistar hat on was the presentation of a paper entitled "Navistar's Smart Way to Meet US2010 Emissions" , given at the Diesel Emissions conference in Europe, back in June.

So what are we to think? Think what you like, but it doesn't sound healthy to us.

Shine:

Maybe he just got tired of living in Warrenville and wanted to go back home. He's now worth much more than when he left VW. He'll be the only one in Europe who knows in depth Advanced EGR.

On this occasion, Shine, we'll give you points for trying.
