This client is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner, to be based on site on one of their leading FMCG depots. Your role as Transport Planner will be to assist full transport planning and associated administration with a busy and growing transport team. 
Your core responsibilities will be: - 
- Ensure the coordination of the core fleet in the completion of deliveries and overseeing any associated delivery issues.
- Planning and allocation of drivers and vehicles.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout the entire fleet.
- Manage and process relevant documentation and reports to meet customer demands.
- Respond to customer enquiries within allotted timescales.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with both internal team and customers alike. A working knowledge of WTD and digital tachographs is essential as well as holding a CPC. This client is seeking to appoint a candidate who is keen to develop their career within the transport environment.

Role Profile
Our client is looking for an experienced transport planner. You will have first line accountability for the dedicated multi-drop transport function. Delivering to both high street and RDC customers nationwide, you will be responsible for planning your resources, controlling your KPIs, and ensuring that the transport fleet (c.40 HGV vehicles) fully complies with all current legislation. The construction and compiling of performance reports coupled with liaising with external suppliers and driver de-briefing will also be required.
Skills &amp; Experience 
The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in managing a transport function. You will be an excellent people manager and have experience of dealing with large teams of drivers, as well as internal and external customers. You must be diligent, enthusiastic, highly motivated, and have a willingness to succeed. Knowledge of transport KPIs, IT, tachograph regulations and WTD is a pre-requisite. CPC would be advantageous. The ability to plan and flex your resources in line with volume demands will be a key skill in the role.
